Music News

It's Monday, and we here at HF have triumphed over food poisoning, brush fires and a heat wave to bring you the best in music news. Lets do this:

Glow Sticks and MDMA Optional

The Verve - Riding the wave of anticipation built from their all too brief tour of the states in April, The Verve have given fans a taste of what's to come. Today the band released the first single from their forthcoming album, Four. "Love is Noise" is now available for listening on their MySpace page. Four is now confirmed for release in the US on August 19th.

Primal Scream
- What version of the Scream will we get this time? Is it the blissed out rave of Screamadelica? The politically charged feedback hurricane of XTRMNTR? Or the exile on smack street of Riot City Blues? From the sound and look of the first single "Can't Go Back", it appears we're somewhere between the rock and club. Check out the video here. Their new album, Beautiful Future drops July 21st across the pond in jolly ol' England.

The Skinny Jean Club

Kings of Leon - Not content to drink a beer or two in the arms of some models after criss crossing the globe promoting 2007s Because of the Times, the Kings have set September 23rd as the release date for their new long player, Only by The Night. The band just wrapped up a series of dates opening for Pearl Jam, and are now jumping over to Europe for a string of festival dates that finish in time to bring them back for an appearance at the inaugural All Points West Festival.
