Band #3

Jack White Announces His Latest Band - The Dead Weather

Always moving forward with some music project, White Stripes/The Raconteurs Jack White announced his latest artistic venture - The Dead Weather.

With White on drums and some vocals, The Kill's Allison Mosshart will handle the bulk of the lead vocals. The Raconteurs bassist Jack Lawrence, and Queens of the Stone Age guitarist Dean Fertita round out the group. In true Jack White fashion, the Dead Weather already have an album recorded called Horehound that will be released in June.

Rollingstone.com has a somewhat lengthy article on The Dead Weather and White's new vinyl label, Third Man Records. The record label is based in Nashville, TN, and houses a record store, rehearsal space, dark room/photo studio as well as Third Man record label offices.

You can preview two tracks on The Dead Weather website - "Hang You From the Heavens" and a cover of Gary Numan's "Are Friends Electric".

If you are worried about the fate of White's other bands, don't. It appears that White is just following his muse.
